Shirley Sheffer

Shirley Flynt Sheffer, age 84, of Copperhill passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Shirley was born April 30, 1939, in Mt. Olive, Mississippi to the late James Reece Flynt and Marjorie Lewis Flynt.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill, Tennessee.
Shirley will be remembered as a Christian, a loving wife, and devoted mother and grandmother. Family was her greatest treasure and she had many dear friends. Her favorite place to be was fishing with her husband, but she also found great joy in reading, quilting, bowling, bridge, and painting. Some of her beautiful quilts are displayed at her church.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James P. Sheffer; son, Phillip Sheffer, and brother-in-law, Gary Hilton.
Shirley is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Ed Lowe of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Christina and Garry Wingo of Epworth; daughter-in-law, Jodie Sheffer of Copperhill; grandchildren, Amanda (Christopher) Bogue, Sarah (Travis) Miller, Robyn Lowe, and Reece Sheffer; great-grandchildren, Ethan Champion and Noah, Jonah, and Ava Bogue; brothers, James (Diane) Flynt of Tiger, Georgia, and Don (Lynne) Flynt of Loudon, Tennessee; and sister, Peggy Hilton of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill with James Flynt officiating. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. For those desiring, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
