Jimmy Byron Maxey

Funeral services for Jimmy Byron Maxey, 79, of Sterlington, LA will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Sterlington, LA with Rev. J. E. Brown and Rev. Jim Aarant officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA.

Jimmy was born on July 27, 1934 in Calhoun, LA and passed away on January 22, 2014 in Sterlington, LA. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Sterlington. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a retired electrician from Guide. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sterlington. Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed gardening and deer hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Ezelle Maxey and brothers, Ray and Wesley Maxey.

He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Alice Jo Lipsey Maxey of Sterlington; son David Maxey and wife, Penny of West Monroe; daughter, Vicki Maxey Troitski of Buchanan Virginia; sister Kay Downs and husband, Dale of Sterlington; and brother John E. Maxey and wife, Ann of Linville; and one granddaughter, Krystal Maxey.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Bloxham, Audie Maxey, Gerald Walters, Dale Downs, Eddie Ford, and Dennis Sims.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Foreman and Jamie Champagne.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Sterlington, LA.
