Joseph Bochinski Obituary

Bochinski, Joseph

Joseph A. "Joe" Bochinski Jr., age 74, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2014, at Theda Clark Medical Center. Born on August 31, 1939, in Oshkosh, to Joseph and Marie (Sipple) Bochinski Sr., Joe married Lois Pflanzer on May 6, 1961.

A life-long resident of Oshkosh, Joe was an over-the-road truck driver for Schneider National, Badger Federal, and Old Dominion Freight Line until his retirement with over 2.5 million miles driven. He was a gifted woodworker who enjoyed the fine details in each piece he made. Joe enjoyed a game of golf, playing Bingo with Lois, any type of scratch off ticket, and his lawn and flowers. A proud and patriotic man, Joe served his country in the US Army Air Corps. Most of all, Joe was a caring and devoted grandfather to his granddaughter, Jessika.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Bochinski of Oshkosh; two daughters, Debra Bochinski of Oshkosh and Susan (Duane) Miller of Oshkosh; a granddaughter, Jessika Miller of Oshkosh; four brothers, Gerald (Bonnie) Bochinski, James (Judy) Bochinski, Thomas (Linda) Bochinski, and John (Sue) Bochinski, all of Oshkosh; a sister, Mary Jo (Robert) Zier of Oshkosh; a brother-in-law, Carl (Patricia) Pflanzer of North Carolina; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. Preceding Joe in death are his parents and two infant daughters.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend William Van De Kreeke officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seefeldfuneral.com.

A sincere thank you from the family to the staff of Aurora Medical Center ICU of Oshkosh, Select Specialty Hospital of West Allis, Bridgewood Rehab Center of Neenah, Theda Clark 5th Floor & Theda Clark Hospice, and Dr. Moid of Radiology/Oncology at Aurora Oshkosh for the care and respect given to Joe during his stay with them.
