Liz and Megan,
My heart felt sympathies are with you. I was so sorry to see Mike’s picture in the Clarkston News. Since moving out of state the paper is my way of keeping up with Clarkston folks. I really admired Mike and fondly remember our times sitting by you all at mass. Prayers that comfort comes in knowing how blessed you were to share his life.

Dad,
I don't know what to say, I'm at a loss for words. 2020 has been a horrible year, and losing you is the worst part. Not being able to see you before you passed hurts more than anything I have ever experienced. I am sure they gave you the best care possible, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do.
You had one of the most stressful jobs a man can have, but you never, ever brought it home. What you must have seen, the challenges you faced! You never complained, ever. Not a bad word came out of your mouth. Truly, you were a fine man and a gentleman. I honestly don't think a kinder person exists in this world.
I'll never forget when I was 11 or 12 and we were driving down I-75 and there you were, 20 feet tall on a billboard, the face of (at the time) POH. While the kids at school thought it was hilarious, it made perfect sense to me. Who better to project what the hospital's value system was? I was so proud.
When I spoke to you from Istanbul on December 5th, you sounded great. It was just a check-in call, 10 minutes or so, but had I known it was to be the last time we spoke, I would have said 'I love you' when we hung up. But you knew that, but I'll say it one more time. I love you Dad, and I am better for having you in my life for 48 years. You will be so missed, and I hope you are now at peace.

Dr. Doyle; my mentor in Emergency Medicine Mentor for 4 years. More than that he had been, providing guidance not only for my career (that I continue to pass along to ER residents now and credit him for) and in m lunch daily life. ALWAYS a grand optimist, smiling and calm no matter what, making sure to offer a calm and salient point in every situation. Called me Dr. Seth omitting my last name (because everyone did and had trouble with pronouncing it). He was aware of a lot of my personal struggles and never once did he treat me differently for it, if anything bolstered me even more! I’ve received many positive reviews for my practice in Emergency Medicine over the years to to all the credit to Dr. Doyle and other mentors in that program. Dr. Doyle was much more than my mentor. He was my advocate, my peer and my great friend. I’ll miss you, but carry your optimism and sage advice with me forever and pass it along to other young ER residents everyday. Thank you!

Dr. Doyle was truly the most humble, kind, caring physician I've ever worked with. He made the entire ER team feel like a family with him at the helm- like Dad.
Soft spoken, measured and very wise, he took great care of so many patients at their most vulnerable with the same humility and care.
To hear of his passing, way too soon, is quite sad. I've been thinking of the many memories at POH, and that beautiful sparkle in his eyes each time we worked together- as a team.
To his family, you have my greatest condolences. I know he will be missed. I also know, he rests well in heaven's glory.

Dear Mike, you were the best brother (in law) that anyone could have. You were the kindest, gentlest man. You were so very patient and always there if anyone needed help. I don’t think you know how much richer you made my life by knowing you and sharing memories. Craig and I will continue to share stories and moments in which you make us laugh or sigh in gratitude. You will always be an example of what a good human resembles. With love and gratitude, Renee and Craig

Dr. Doyle was an amazing human being. His knowledge was beyond reproach, his kindness beyond compare. He was the epitome of a gentleman at all times. Never saw him lose his cool even in the midst of a chaotic ER. He left a foot print behind that very few people can ever see achieve. He enabled and prepared me to be the best doctor I could be.
My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

I went to Sacred Heart with Mike Doyle grades 1-11 and even though he went onto becoming a famous doctor, he remained the kind, caring thoughtful person, l grew-up with! He always wanted to know how you were and what you were doing! He never began a sentence with “l” but rather “you!” When one of our classmates became ill, Mike Doyle was there! The world has lost a “a true gem,” not only as a great doctor but also as a kind, caring man! Mike loved his family, being a doctor and his friends! RIP, you devoted, nice guy.We will really miss you! With sympathy, to Liz and the family! I will miss you, Mike! Catherine (Kitty) Gillespie

Liz, I was so saddened to read of Dr. Doyle's passing. Such a classy man and a great doctor. Some of my fondest memories are of working with both of you at POH (in my much younger years). We certainly had some great times. I'm sad that you had to join the same club I joined six years ago as it's so sad to lose your life partner. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Doctor Doyle was a great man and a pioneer in the field of Emergency Medicine. Not only was he THE first Osteopath to be Board Certified he also helped establish and run one of it's first residency programs. His dedication was legendary and it was said that he would often go home after working 12 hours in the Emergency Room and read medical journals for hours. But the biggest thing that set him apart was his incredible humanity. I worked with him in an inner city ER and we saw some pretty awful things but he treated every patient with dignity and respect. They were all sir or man to him. Every last one. RIP DR Doyle. The world just lost a hero.

I will always remember Dr Doyle greeting me with a smile and a “Good Morning Doctor”. I always enjoyed when he came down to radiology to ask our opinion on something, which demonstrated that he went out of his way for his patients even after his decades of experience. I will always remember him fondly. I wish his family and loved ones peace.

Dr Doyle was a Class A Physician, Gentleman, and all around great human being! I loved when he would come over to my office to discuss his paycheck, wanting to make sure he was taking out the right amount of taxes. We would discuss Clarkston football or basketball & even U of M because he knew I was a big fan! He just genuinely took time to talk to people about things that were important in their lives! He will be sadly missed! Have an Ouzzo with Dr. Bob!
