HARDY, RUSSELL

He was born on April 7, 1926 in Pontiac, Michigan to Carl and Ethel (Shankelton) Hardy. He married Arlene Foote on July 6, 1944, in Holly, Michigan. Russell was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He was employed for 46 years as a truck driver for Commerce Pattern & Engineering, Commerce, Michigan, retiring in 1986. He had lived in Gladwin county for the last 20 years, previously residing in Waterford, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Hardy of Beaverton; daughter, Charlene (Chuck) Bain of Beaverton, son, Bruce Lee (Shana) Hardy of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Rick, Jennifer, Aaron, Neil, Melissa, Chad, Bret, and Dallin; nine great grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Charlick of Beaverton; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Eugene Hardy (1988); four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 31, 2009, 12 Noon, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Latter-Day Saints, Midland, Michigan. Bishop Eric Workman will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Latter-Day Saints or Heartland Hospice. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
