University Place, Washington - Larry Steven Johnson 73, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 in University Place, WA after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Larry was born July 4, 1950 in Olympia to Edwin and Ilene Johnson. After graduating from Olympia High in 1968, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Kristin Thompson, joined the Army and began their married life in Germany. The marriage eventually ended, but they remained friendly.

I'm Randy's daughter and through the years Larry would often visit my parents or they would travel to visit him. Even if a couple years passed between seeing him on person, Dad was frequently on long phone calls with him. I always thought it was so special that my dad had a friendship with Larry (and also Gene Fredrickson) that lasted and lasted. They certainly inspired me to make it a point to stay connected with friends. We muss you Lar!

We were in the first grade together and remained brothers for life. We went everywhere together. He always had a motorcycle or a car and we made many trips to the beach. Sadly the Parkinson´s made his life miserable. My only comfort is knowing he´s out of pain.

Loved this guy. Very caring and doting uncle. I will miss his stories and his sense of humor. One of the good guys and life was stolen from him way too soon. Bless your beautiful soul uncle.
