April 3, 1931- July 28, 2018
Evelyn M. Rhodes 87, of the Bourbon and Etna Green area passed away in her home on Friday, July 28 with her family at her side.
Evelyn was born the daughter of Orman Paul Trowbridge and Amparo Rodriquez Trowbridge April 3, 1931 in Cartaga, Costa Rica.
She was a life long resident of the area. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and was a great "Crafter", a 4-H leader and a member of the Etna Green United Methodist Church. Evelyn enjoyed being a homemaker and a Mother. She was a graduate of Bourbon High School class of 1949. She retired from Biomet Orthopedics, Warsaw.
On Oct. 15, 1949 she married Wayne Evan Rhodes who passed away Jan. 16, 1978.
Evelyn leaves her two daughters: Norma Rhodes of Etna Green, Beverly and Mark Brubaker of Claypool and her two sons Rich and Luce Rhodes of Phoenix, Ariz., and Douglas and Salli Rhodes of Plymouth. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Mindy and Jake Brinkman, Brad Johnson, Alex Rhodes, Mitchell and Virginia Rhodes, Kyle and Skylar Rhodes and Sam and Sierra Rhodes; three great-grandchildren: Annabelle and Zia Brinkman and Logan Johnson. Also surviving are her sisters: Liah Hood, Felicia and Cleo Stayton, Linda and Jim Rapp and Marina Tawdul and her brother Glenn and Vicki Trowbridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Olga Zickafoose.
Funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31 in Etna Green United Methodist Church 131 W. Broadway, Etna Green, Ind. 46524 with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating.
The family welcomes you to help celebrate her life with a time of visitation, Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services in the Church.
Burial to follow in Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.

My deepest sympathy to Evelyn's family. Our class is getting smaller and smaller. I have known Evelyn since first grade. She was always very quite and nice.
