Phillip Crutchfield Obituary
Phillip Lee "Phil" Crutchfield, 86, formerly of Plymouth, Indiana, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10:02 p.m., in the Culver - Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home of Culver, Indiana, with his family by his side.
Phil was born on Sunday, May 23, 1937, in Galveston, Indiana to David W. and Gertrude V. (Sullivan) Crutchfield. They preceded him in death.
On Saturday, June 23, 1956, in Oceanside, California, he married Ruth Ann Mohler. She died on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
Phil was a 1955 graduate of the Monticello High School of Monticello, Indiana. He went on to serve his county in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1956 to 1958. Phil owned and operated Phil's Place of Monticello, Indiana and then purchased and ran The Shore Room in Bass Lake, Indiana for several years. He had lived in the Plymouth, Indiana, area for the last several years. He had also lived in Monticello and Knox, Indiana. Phil was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church of Plymouth, Indiana.
Phil is survived by his children, Randy (wife Janice) Crutchfield of Fishers, Indiana, Joy (husband Mark) Milo of Knox, Indiana, and Ann (husband Mark) Aker of Plymouth, Indiana; eleven (11) grandchildren; fourteen (14) great grandchildren; one brother Tim (wife Wilnet) Crutchfield of Dothan, Alabama; one (2) sisters-in-law, Marie Crutchfield of Monticello, Indiana and Mary Elaine "Spunk" (husband Fred) Reinhold of Monterey, Indiana; one (1) brother-in-law, James Thomas "Tom" Mohler of Monticello, Indiana; Several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, David W. and Gertrude V. (Sullivan) Crutchfield, wife, Ruth Ann (Mohler) Crutchfield, son, Warren David Crutchfield; brother, William David "Bill" Crutchfield, sister-In-Law, Dana Mohler.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 12 (noon) until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Pastor James Jones officiating.
Burial with full military rites will be conducted by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery following the funeral service on Thursday, June 8, 2023
