Richard David Cabe

Washington, Ga.- Richard David Cabe (Mountain Man), 62, a longtime resident of Whittier, NC and current resident of Washington GA went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 12, 2023. A native of Swain County, he was the son of MaeLee Sutton Cabe of Whittier, NC and the late Paul James Cabe Sr.
He was an owner/operator of Cabe Brothers Logging with his two brothers, James Cabe and Roger Cabe and his son, Chris Cabe. He then worked from 2010 until the present with Strother Timber Company of Washington, GA.
In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his former wife, Faye Childers; his son, Chris Cabe and wife Tyna of Franklin, NC; one daughter, Brittany Cabe and fiancé Austin Sellers of Whittier, NC; nine grandchildren, Christopher Cabe Jr, Allie Cabe, Anthony Cabe, Elliott Cabe, Harley Cabe, Sadie Cabe, Lonnie Cabe, Rossi Cabe, Beretta Cabe; one sister, Lynn Cochran (Kent); brothers, Paul James Cabe Jr., Roger Cabe (Angie); best friends, Rob Strother, Keylyn Smith, Ms. Tina, Willard Barrett, and most precious of all "Mommie".
Funeral services were held 3:00 PM Tuesday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Sam McMahan officiated with burial at Grave Gap Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
