William “Little Luke” Helton

William "Little Luke" Helton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 11th, and he is now rejoicing in the arms of our savior.
Luke was a lifetime resident of the Needmore community. He was a faithful servant, husband, brother, dad, hero, friend, and papaw.
Luke is survived by his wife of 36 years, MaryEllen Helton and his legacy will live on in his children Brian (Jessica), Daniel (Tera), Brittney (Jonathan) and Matthew(Brandy). He cherished all the time spent with his sister Elaine and his brother Tommy.
Lucky were the children who were blessed to call him papaw. Logan, Pierson, Lincoln, Kenzleigh, Emalin, Ellie, Maxton, Lauren, Willa, Phoenix, and Harley.
His family would like to extend a special thanks to Angela Struna and Four Seasons hospice care for the unwavering dedication to making sure that we wereable to honor all his wishes.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Crisp Funeral home in Bryson City on Saturday, September 16th at 3:00 with family to receive friends from 1-3 prior to theservice. He will be laid to rest in the Windy Gap cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Micheal Sherrill, Adam Sherrill, Jay Kirkland, Trent Franks, Anthoney Vaughn and Jake Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan "Growley" Cunningham, Pierson Marr, Lincoln Marr and Maxton Marr.
