Evey Norman Medlin

1942 - 2022

Evey Norman Medlin, 79, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at his home.
Evey was born August 22, 1942 in North Carolina to the late Claude Norman Medlin and the late Evelyn Harris Medlin.
He was also preceded in death by grandson, Chad Norman Treadaway.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service was on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Palestine United Methodist Church in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Kevin "Bird" McCormac and Rev. Boyd Joyce. Burial will immediately follow at the Palestine Cemetery at 36414 Palestine Road, Albemarle.
Survivors include wife of 58 years, Jane Forte Medlin of Albemarle, NC; children, Kip Medlin (Linda), Wendy Treadaway (Frankie); grandchildren, Kaleb Medlin, Misty Treadaway Fontana (Mike), Kacey Medlin, Zack Medlin (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Maddox Fontana; brothers, Roger, Doug, Ted, Pat, and Guy Medlin; sister, Wanda Hinson; and many nieces and nephews.
Evey will be remembered as a hard worker - he worked at Alcoa as a mechanic for over 30 years and farmed at the same time. He also tractor pulled for many years.
Evey enjoyed helping people and always put others before himself. He was the strong one who took care of everybody else. He showed his love to his family by giving them a hard time. He loved to have fun, joke, and make people laugh. He also loved to sing and loved to travel - especially his trip out West.
He was proud of his family, always kept in touch with them, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren teaching them to be caring hard workers just like he was.
Most importantly he loved the Lord - he would often walk to church and enjoyed spending time there and singing in the Men's Choir.
