Madge House Obituary

MURPHYSBORO - Madge L. House, 86, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro.

Madge was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Pomona, a daughter to the late Clarence and Hallie (Lewis) Ellis.

Madge married Robert Adams in 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1948. She married Lloyd O. House in 1958, and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Madge was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Murphysboro.

She loved gardening and yard work after years of devotion to her family.

She worked at the former Lustor Corp. in Murphysboro, Rural Electric Cooperative, and was then employed by the Carbondale Clinic, retiring after 17 years of service.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sue Adams of Murphysboro; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and Jim Lipetska of Spring, Texas, Kathy and Larry Shudra of Cypress, Texas, and Jean House Koch of Rockwall, Texas; eight grandchildren, Christine Lay and husband, Pat, of Parker, Colo., Jill Heishman and husband, Scott, of Sand Rock, Ala., Debbie Ragsdale and husband, Steve, of Rockwall, Matthew Lipetska and wife, Gwen, of New Orleans, La., Jason Lepetska and wife, Dawn, of Lubbock, Texas, April Lipetska of Houston, Texas, and Joshua and Daniel Shudra of Cypress; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne, Verne and Carlos Ellis, and an infant daughter.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 15, 2006, in Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with the Rev. Bob McCrory of First Baptist Church in Murphysboro officiating. Burial will follow in Alto Pass Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Elder-Wise Senior Day Care in Carbondale, First Baptist Church or Alzheimer's Association. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home.
