Helen Roysden Obituary
Muncie - Helen Grace Roysden, 83, of Muncie, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born November 16, 1932 in Oakgrove, TN and was the daughter of Benton & Cora (Reagan) Beaty.
Helen married Arvelee J. Roysden on November 14, 1947. He passed away July 21, 1994. Helen and Arvelee operated Roysden's Lawn Mower Shop together until the early 70s. Helen went back to school and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ball State University in 1986. She worked at Chateau and Woodlawn Nursing Homes and was a very caring and devoted nurse. Helen was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves, Indianapolis Pacers, and the Indianapolis Colts. She enjoyed listening to country music and Elvis Presley as this music was close to her heart.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Mary Wright; her children Anna Douthitt (husband, Steve), Richard Roysden (companion, Vickie), Allen Roysden, Joanie Walker (husband, Monty); eleven grandchildren Glen Douthitt (companion, Angie), Steve Douthitt (wife, Robin), Machele Edwards (husband, Mack), Joanna Roysden, April Roysden, Robert Roysden, James A. Roysden, James N. Roysden, Kendra Franklin (Husband Brandon), Kaitlyn Walker (fiancée Kyle) William Walker; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special companion, her best friend Junior Harless.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvelee Roysden; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Helen will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.gardenviewfuneralhome.com.
