Erica Hoyt Obituary

Columbia, South Carolina - Erica Rosner Hoyt, 95, award winning South Carolina Watercolorist, joined her late husband, Bill Hoyt, voice professor at CIU and career Christian vocalist, in heaven to forever be with Jesus, their Savior. Erica died peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Born in Einbeck, Germany, Erica was the daughter of the late Carl and Martha Albrecht Rosner. Erica was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia choir.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Hoyt Turner of Carrollton, Ga., Bonnie Hoyt Lynch of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Erin Osborne, Kristina Somers, William Turner, Stephen Lynch, William Lynch; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at First Baptist Church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Columbia International University.

I was saddened and embarrassed to see Erica's obituary today. It's been several weeks since I've reviewed the obits in the newspaper. I offer my apologies and sincere condolences to her family. As president of the SC Watermedia Society this year and the Trenholm Artists Guild, I offer our sense of loss too from members of both organizations. Erica was very gifted and appreciated.
