Mrs. Brown was born in North, a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. James F.M. Hoffmeyer and Lois Folk Hoffmeyer. She was a 1958 graduate of Lander College with a Bachelors degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Brown was a member of Willow Swamp Baptist Church, former member of the church choir, former Director of Bible school and a director of the WMU for many years.
Survivors are her husband, John Edward Brown of the home; daughter, Lois Ann Porter and husband James, Norway; sons, James Norris Brown and wife Patricia, Norway, John Henry Brown and wife Sheryl, Orangeburg, Gerald Edward Brown and wife Nancy, Norway; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence and Dukes-Harley Funeral Home.
