Kevin Butler Obituary

WEST COLUMBIA — A funeral service for Kevin Thomas Butler, 36, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 o’clock Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy., Cayce, with the Rev. Douglas M. Self officiating. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock, Wednesday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the S.C. Autism Society, 806 12th Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.
 
Mr. Butler died Sunday, December 6, 2009. He was born February 3, 1973. in Connellsville, PA. a son of Kevin R. Butler and Rebecca Traynor. He was the transportation manager for Blanchard Machinery and was also employed by Wingard Towing Service, he was a member of the S.C. Trucking Association and also a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Connellsville, PA. He enjoyed boating, fishing and camping.
 
He is survived by his wife, Veonna; daughters, Meredith and Miranda; mother, Rebecca (Kenny) Snyder of Connellsville, PA; father, Kevin “Rusty” Butler of Connellsville, PA; sister, Heather (Alan) Herman of Acme, PA; nephews, Scottie Herman, John Jenkins, Alex Jenkins, John Hatchell III, Kyle Hatchell and Geoffrey Martucci; a niece, Katelyn Hatchell; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Patricia) Jenkins of Gaston, John (Mary Kay) Hatchell of West Columbia, and Allen Hatchell of Folly Beach; mother and father-in-law, John (Kathy) Hatchell of Gaston; stepsister, Miki Ann (Jeff) Martucci of Connellsville, PA; and his beloved dog, Brittany. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas and Helen Traynor, Eleanor Greenawalt, Helen Riggins, Alberta and Kenneth Snyder, Sr., and great-grandmother Edna Eicher.
