Lee Walker Baird COLUMBIA A memorial service for Lee Walker Baird, 54, of Columbia, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Lee passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Born in Big Springs, Texas, April 9, 1962, he was a son of the late Thomas Ivy Baird and Mary Jo Gann Baird of Houston, Mississippi. He was the grandson of the late Ivy Walker Baird, Nora Estelle McKinney Baird, Bobby Lee and Gertrude Criddle Gann. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1980 1989. Staff Sgt. Baird was with the Crash and Recovery Team along with F16 maintenance. He was a Certified EMT and Pro Rodeo Bull Rider while in the Air Force. He continued to compete in several competitions after he left the Air Force. He had a passion for woodworking, and was an expert in the art and production of stain glass windows. Lee enjoyed going to Hunting Island State Park to fish and shrimp with his wife, daughters, along with other family members. Surviving are his children, Erin Lee Baird, Mary Lorraine Baird and Clifford Thomas Baird; step-children, Thomas Pitts, Guy Pitts; grandchildren, Joseph Holley, Andrew Holley, Keelee Rayne Pitts; brother, Thomas "Gene" Eugene Baird (Denise), along with four nieces and one nephew in Arkansas.
