KENNETH HIRLINGER
ST. LOUIS — Kenneth Hirlinger was fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Spirit on Jan. 8, 2019, after a long, heroic battle with cancer.
Ken was born Aug. 12, 1961 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Kenneth A. Hirlinger and Jacqueline Hirlinger (nee Dillree).
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. Hirlinger.
Kenneth grew up in Webster Groves and attended Holy Redeemer School. He was an alumnus of Saint Louis University High School and graduated with double degree in mechanical engineering and computer science from University of Missouri at Columbia. He worked for Emerson, tailoring electric motors to customers' needs, his entire career, and loved his job.
He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Wiseman; his loving wife of 26 years, Laura (nee Glatz) Hirlinger; his step-daughter Nina Berenato; his siblings Christopher Hirlinger, and Susan (James) Elliott; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
Ken enjoyed fishing, reading and most all, his Catholic faith. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 13 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, Missouri. A funeral mass will be held Monday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church. Memorials in Ken's honor may be made to Missionaries of Charities, Little Sisters of the Poor, or St. Norbert Catholic Church.
