Ann Bonafede Obituary
Ann Marie Bonafede, 65, of Scranton died Wednesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Letitia Pisa Bonafede. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1975. She earned an associate degree in psychology from King's College. Prior to retirement, she was employed in social services for ARC of Wyoming County.
Ann Marie lived life to the fullest by traveling and sharing her gift of cooking, a tradition shared by her Italian family. Above all, Ann Marie's most treasured gifts were her daughter and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ann Marie's family would like to thank all of the nurses, doctors and staff of Geisinger Community Medical Center, specifically their intensive care unit for the compassion and superb care they rendered.
Surviving are daughter, Brooke Bonafede Russo and husband, Gregg, Scranton; grandchildren, Gregg Joseph and Mila Ann Russo; brother, Anthony and wife, Cindy, Virginia; sister Karen McPhillips, Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Joseph.
A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Friends and family may pay their respects Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of service. Please visit the funeral home website to leave an online condolence.
