M. Hauser Obituary

M. Frances Kelly Hauser of Scranton died Aug. 3 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Jack Farrington Hauser, who died Oct. 12, 1973. The couple was married for 32 years.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Orlando F. and Kathleen Dermody Kelly, she was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral, educated in Dunmore schools and a graduate of Lackawanna Business College. Following her husband's death, she owned and operated his business, Hauser Readers Services, with the office located in the Connell Building. For her work with the Parent Teacher Association, she was awarded a life membership. Frances served on the health education committee of the YWCA, which sponsored bringing Constance Reynolds to Scranton to teach ballet. Having served on the board of the Parliamentary Law Club, she was appointed parliamentarian for the Century Club. Her past memberships include the Country Club of Scranton, the Scranton Club, the Canoe Club, the Century Club and an associate member of the Sisters of Mercy.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda H. Parker, Tucson, Ariz.; a granddaughter, jacqueline Parker Stenner and husband, Eric, Santa Rosa, Calif.; a grandson, Jeffrey Anton Parker and wife, Katherine, Corvallis, Ore.; two great-grandchildren, Madchen and Charles Stenner; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Aurora and Phineas Brownsanders; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, William F. Kelly.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at St. Peter's Cathedral by Father Brian Clarke, with interment at St. Catharine's Cemetery. Arrangements are by the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton.

My sincerest sympathies to Mrs. Hausers family. I have many wonderful memories of this beautiful woman growing up on Madison Avenue. She was the most kindest, gentlest person I had ever known.
