Donna J. Carey

Port Huron - Donna Joan Carey, 92, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

She was born October 22, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Walter D. and Virginia B. Beckley Sr.

Mrs. Carey retired from River District Hospital in January 1988, where she worked in the business office and also as switchboard operator. She later worked part time at the Super K-Mart for ten years, retiring in December of 2001.

Donna was a life member of VFW Charles Schoor Post #796 and was a member of the Port Huron Museum. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Marysville.

She attended lunch every month with K-Mart retired personnel and also with the Traveling Gourmets (her high school friends).

Donna dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed planting flowers and always had her knitting needle in her hands. She was a great sports fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.

She is survived by her three children, Virginia (Wayne) Gauthier, Michael Carey and Marsha (Harry) Stroh; her brother, Walter D. (Jeannie) Beckley Jr.; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Hunt, Joshua (Carrie) Hunt, Caleb (Edna) Hunt, Jeff Hall, Terri Carey, Amy (Todd) Sedelmaier, Martin (Kristen) Carey; 16 great-grandchildren, Larry Treadwell, Chase Hunt, Chad Hunt, Kaela Hunt, Kara Hunt, Caleb Hunt Jr., Nicole Hartman, Dallas Hartman, Harlow Henderson, Liam Hunt, Krista Hunt, Keagan Henderson, Olivia Hall, Karlee Hunt, Kinley Hunt and Kabella Hunt; two half-sisters, Debbie Fish of Chico, California and Barbara Herbert of Brunswick, Maine; several nieces and nephews; and also her beloved other family in St. Clair, Dr. Stanley McDonald, Dr. Homeria McDonald and Dr. Masseeha McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter D. and Virginia B. (McNeice) Beckley Sr.

Private graveside services will take place.

Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
