Richard Ball Obituary

Richard Clarence (Dick) Ball Sandusky Richard Clarence (Dick) Ball, 79, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Port Huron Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan. He was born September 6, 1932 in Port Sanilac, Michigan the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Schommer) Ball. He was a lifelong area resident, a 1950 graduate of Sandusky High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sandusky. He served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. Richard married Jeanne P. Smith on June 29, 1957 in Sandusky. He was associated with the family business, Ball Insurance Agency, for 56 Years. Dick was an active member of the community, a member of the Sandusky Lions Club serving as President and he enjoyed many sports, including Golfing, Bowling, Boating, and the Detroit Tigers. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his mother Elizabeth Ball of Sandusky, Richard J. Ball and Lisa Tucker (son) of Sandusky, Jon W. and Denise Ball (son) of Sandusky, David K. and Carolyn Ball (son) of Grosse Pointe Woods, grandchildren, Lindsay, Grant, Audrey, Matthew, and Ethan Ball, Brandon and Chase Tucker, Gordon Ball (brother) of Sandusky, Ronald and Brenda Ball (brother) of Virginia, Dale and Diane Ball (brother) of Sandusky, Carol and Frank Molloy (sister) of Sandusky, Kenneth and Emogene Smith (father & mother in law) of Snover. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Ball, brother in law, Paul Smith, sister in laws, Beverly Ball and Joyce Ball. Visitation will be held at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky on Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky. Rev. Fr. Charles Hammond will be officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sandusky. Memorial suggestion to the Sandusky Lions Club - Leader Dogs for the Blind.
