Rose Gencarelli

Rose Gencarelli, 89, late of West Street, Westerly, died Feb. 22, 2007, in The Westerly Hospital.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Annina (Rosa) Gencarelli.
She was a life-long communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and she loved to knit, especially scarves and afghans.
She had been employed as a cigarette stamper at the family business, Gencarelli Tobacco Wholesaler, before retiring.
She is survived by two brothers, Michael J. Gencarelli of Westerly and Ernest Gencarelli of Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary G. Gencarelli and Nancy A. Gencarelli; and by three brothers, Vincent Gencarelli, Dr. Alphonse Gencarelli, and Frank R. Gencarelli
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
