Wesley Peterson Obituary
Wesley Gene Peterson was born October 21, 1938 in Marion ND, the son of George and Erma (Olson) Peterson. He was raised to adulthood in Marion. He attended elementary and high school in Marion. He earned a Standard Teaching degree from Valley City State University and taught in Gackle ND for three years. From there he returned to Valley City State University and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. He taught in West Fargo Public Schools for five years. He attended the University of North Dakota and earned his Master's Degree in Elementary Education. He taught in the Fargo Public School System for 36 years until his retirement.
He loved nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Wesley also loved art and produced many beautiful paintings. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Wesley is survived by his wife Cheryl (Homan) Peterson, his son Luke Peterson of Oklahoma, Rachel (Kevin) Blumhardt of Fargo ND, his brother Raymond Peterson of Ellendale ND, two sisters Lorraine Nitschke and Laverne Bjornson of Valley City, a brother in-law Richard Roberg also of Valley City, six grandchildren, Skye, Wesley, Reed and Luke of Oklahoma, Evan and Gwendolyn of Fargo, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Carol, his parents George and Erma Peterson, a sister Barbara Roberg, and a brother-in-law Mickey Bjornson.
The family prefers memorials to Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City ND or to the American Cancer Society.

I will always remember Wes as one of my favorite cousins. Wes was a great artist and a darn good fishermen. RIP, Wes.
