John Mogg Obituary
John Allard Mogg, born in Idaho on February 24, 1962, missing at sea with the “Marian Ann” since September 21, 2004
John will live forever in the hearts and memories with the love of his life Jennifer Mogg; his children, Joshua Samuel, Levi Trevor, Travis Joel, John Dalton, and daughter Jessica Elizabeth; his mother, Olive Cummings of Yreka, who John said goodbye to in September 2002; father, J. Mogg of Washington; brother, Joseph and Lupe Jones of Hornbrook; sister, Joannie Jones of Yreka; numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
John’s love for children was bigger than life itself, and theirs for him, asking to call him uncle. He was a godfather to Marissa and Maurice Alvarado, Jr., and James Cox. John always had animals finding him like his best friend, Sequoia, and his snake, Rose.
John’s love for fishing and finding serenity at sea put him in the hands of Billy Burchell. John felt honored to work with Billy and the “Marian Ann” for the last seven years. When John wasn’t fishing, he was always busy with construction and auto mechanics.
John’s friends, Tim Shelley, John Conoboy and Maurice Alvarado were always there for love, strength, and direction when John needed it, and even when he didn’t. John loved to be with people and make them laugh, he had faith in everyone he met. He was a strong family man and loved spending time with them when he wasn’t working.
The Mogg family thanks Suzie Burchell for her concerns, strength and support, and to our community and friends, a very special thanks. John A. Mogg, not a day will go by without all of us thinking about you and the crew of the “Marian Ann”.
