Joyce Blair, 72, passed away April 4, 2005, in Crescent City with her family and close friends by her side. Joyce endured a long and courageous battle with lung and bone cancer.
She was a resident of Del Norte County since 1945. She was born January 12, 1933, in Seattle, Washington. Joyce was an account clerk for the Del Norte County Tax Collector’s office for 25 years. She was a member of the Crescent City Women’s Bowling Association and Epsilon Tau (order of Beta Sigma Phi). She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with all her family including her pets, Sassy and Muffin. Joyce went back to school in 1973 to receive her G.E.D. and earned her high school diploma. Joyce always cared for others before herself. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We will always remember her funny little quotes and her “buzzing” around the house.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Blair and her parents, Jim and Bernice Reynolds.
Survivors include daughters: Eileen Bigsby and her husband Tim, Kellee Johnson and her husband Doug, Carolyn Inman and her husband John; grandchildren: Shaun Eld, Elizabeth Olson and her husband Brian, Emily Myles, Lisa Johnson, Shane Eld, Sara Johnson; great grandchild: Carter Bo Olson.
Special thanks for our dear friend, Carleen Gavin who went above and beyond the call of duty to assist our family in this extreme time of need. Also, we would like to thank all the special nurses from Sutter Coast Home Health for all their assistance.
