News Death Notice

STEINER, William R. age 91, Formerly of Dayton and Lakeview, OH., died on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 11:08 A.M. at the Otterbein of St. Marys where he had resided since 2003. He was born on October 19, 1918 in Milford, CT. He was the son of Earl C. and Gertrude May (Vincent) Steiner. On May 23, 1947 he married Emma Jean Lighthiser who died on April 14, 1984. Survivors include his children; Linda (Wayne) Abels of Arvada, CO., Krista (Jay) Westerheide of New Bremen, OH., Jeffery (Vicki) Steiner of Toledo, OH., and Charles Steiner of Dayton, OH. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his daughter-in-law Mary Jo Steiner, one brother and one sister. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. in the Meyers Room at the Otterbein of St. Marys. Burial will be in the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen, OH. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of the services at the Otterbein. Memorial contributions may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice. Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home of New Bremen in handling the arrangements.
