Carl Milacek

1947 - 2015

Carl G. Milacek passed away February 25, 2015 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver. He was 67 years old. Carl was born on March 21, 1947 in Enid, Oklahoma to Leon George and Margie (Geist) Milacek. He moved to Longmont, Colorado in the 8th grade from Oklahoma. Carl graduated from Longmont High School in 1965. On June 9, 1966 Carl married Mary Jo Rose at the First United Methodist Church in Longmont; they were married for 48 years. Carl served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam as a Ground Radio Operator. After being honorably discharged Carl worked as an Air Traffic Controller for 11 years; then as a truck driver hauling cattle with his father-in-law; and then as a car salesman first at Hajek Chevrolet for 15 years and King Auto for 2 years; most recently Carl owned and operated M&M Water Services. Carl attended LifeBridge Christian Church. He enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and soccer when they were young; playing softball; umpiring for the city of Longmont; hunting and fishing; and his animals especially the horse he got for his granddaughter. Carl was preceded in death by his parents He is survived by his wife Mary Jo of Longmont; his son Steve (and his girlfriend Tanya) of Loveland; his daughter Pamela Grever (Dave) of Loveland; his grandchildren Rebecca Milacek, Taylor Cipri and her fiancé Cameron Dettmann, and Alec Cipri; a soon to be great grandson Noah Carl; his brothers Leon Alan Milacek (Mary Ann) of Lyons and Alan D. Milacek (Pat) of Waukomis, OK; and his sister Barbara Schwindt (Robert) of Las Animas. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
