Daniel Little Obituary
Dan was born June 30, 1942, in Altoona, Pa., the son of the late Fred O. and Mary Margaret (Finnegan) Little. Following his graduation from Altoona Catholic High School in 1960, Dan became employed by the Marriott Corp. and moved to Washington, D.C. It was there that he met his beautiful Barbara Louise Pitzer and they were married on June 8, 1968.
Dan built a successful career as an independent insurance broker and investment consultant, and was very proud of his business, Little & Company, established in 1989. Prior to that, he was employed by Investors Diversified Services (IDS) and then Johnson & Higgins in Richmond. Over the course of his career, he not only cultivated long-standing client relationships, but made and nurtured many lifelong friendships.
Dan's life and his heart were fully devoted to his faith and his desire to do God's will, and to providing for his family on a daily basis. He deeply loved his wife, Barbara; his two daughters and their spouses, Jennifer (Brickford Brown) and Allison (Scott Walden); his son, Ian Little; and former daughter-in-law, Kristen Cavallo. His grandchildren, Matt, Katherine, Finn and Grey, brought him immense joy. He loved them fully and unconditionally, and will forever be their Da.
In support of his children, Dan coached youth league soccer and basketball. He will be remembered for his love of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, his many charitable acts, his quick wit, magnetic personality, honesty and his ability to see the humor of life. He will always be our beloved Danny Boy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Avenue in Richmond. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Richmond. In memory of Dan, please make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Barbara and family, As we visited the last months and kept with updates from Tracie, we were praying Dan would have one more team watch, one more hour with family and friends, one more lunch with ole co-workers, but then in prayer we knew that God was in control, and why should we be selfish and pray for "one more", when God knew when "it was enough" and Dan could be with those relatives, families, friends gone before him. Prayers & hugs to you & family that you will seek God through this time, and with each passing day, we all will remember his happy, smiling, joking, loving, kindness, easy way of life. The memories pop up each day. Dan is now resting and free of pain, greeting old and new. Blessings, Margie

Such sadness that we lost Dan, we had some good discussions while eating at Franks in Bon Air. Glad that we were able to have him in our lives.
