Evelyn Carter

CARTER, Evelyn, Flammia Holderfield, mother to Marie Rebman, Theresa Ann (In Heaven), John Holderfield, Claiborne Carter, and Page Robertson; went to heaven on March 1, 2024. After a short Chippenhan Hospital Hospice stay, her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by close family and a loving nursing staff.

She was born to Americo and Margaret Flammia on December 5, 1935, grew up in Lakeside, VA, and was a majorette at Hermitage High School. She became a young mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is known for her never-ending love for babies. She provided infant childcare for many over a 50-year span. She will be missed by all who knew her and called her 'Nanny'.

Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy and laughter she brought in life, not the sadness of her passing.
