Larry Wayne Smiley

Larry Wayne Smiley, 54, died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. He was the son of John W. Smiley Jr. and Jean Yancey Smiley. Larry was a loving father and grandfather. He was a professional welder until his retirement. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, with the Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating. Interment will be in Oakhurst Cemetery. Surviving Larry are his daughters and son-in-law, Crystal S. and Clinton Lund of Stovall, N.C. and Holly Smiley of Clarksville; son, Gary Kent of Clarksville; grandchildren, Caitlin Lund and Chase Kent; brother, Tony Smiley of Skipwith; sister, Susan Smiley of South Hill; aunt, Delores Wise of Clarksville; niece, Ashley; loving companion, Angela Grant; and the mother of his children, Pam Smiley.
