Eileen Nickell, 95, of the Pricetown community, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Salyer Adult Group Home in Hillsboro.
She was born Jan. 8, 1919 in Lynchburg, the daughter of the late Samuel and Blanche Warman Kidd.
Mrs. Nickell worked for over 20 years at Sheeter's Our Store in Lynchburg. She was a member of the Pricetown Church of Christ and a 1937 graduate of Fayetteville High School.
She is survived by three children, James L. (Renda) Nickell of Lynchburg, Gene (Carol) Nickell of Wilmington and Mary Ruth (Jerry) Waits of Pricetown; eight grandchildren, Christine Jackson, Karen (Nelson) Langub, Garyn (Cheryl) Waits, Stacy (Todd) Gieszl, Lora (Shane) Simmons, Tamara (John) Wilson, Greg (Nina) Waits and Michael Nickell; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Reba Newman of Lynchburg; two brothers, Ronald (Phyllis) Kidd of Blanchester and Eldon (Linda) Kidd of Bremen, Ga.; and one sister-in-law, Mary Kidd of Blanchester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.G. Nickell, in 1987; and one brother, Samuel Kidd Jr.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 20 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barker Cemetery in Pricetown.
Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
