Gerald J. Lester, Sr., 78, of Conshohocken, died on April 1, 2018 at Einstein Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Madeline (Dueber) Lester, who died on January 3, 2018. Gerald was born in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, PA on February 29, 1940 to the late John and Jean (Lagowski) Lester. He was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and also attended Lansdale Business School. He was employed at the US Mint as a medal maker. Jerry was a member of the former St. Mary’s Church in Conshohocken. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, working on model trains, bowling, fishing, and was a Flyers fan. Madeline was born in Norristown, PA on November 10, 1948 to the late Walter and Madeline (Karkowski) Dueber. She attended high school in Norristown. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed playing with her grandkids, shopping, and watching her soap operas. Mr. and Mrs. Lester are survived by their two sons John J. Lester and wife Minerva of Lansdale, Gerald J. Lester, Jr. and Michelle Mashintonio of Conshohocken, 4 grandchildren John J. Lester, Jr., Gerald Lester, Michael J. Lester, Makayla Lester. Mr. Lester is pre-deceased by his brother John Lester. Mrs. Lester is pre-deceased by her brother Walter Dueber. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate both Mr. and Mrs. Lester on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA. Visitation with the family from 6-7 p.m. Interment will be private.
