Vernice Quattlebaum (Gant), age 86 of Norristown, died Monday, June 5th at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia. She was born December 9, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Allen and Queen Gant. She graduated from Ridge Spring Monetta High School in Monetta, South Carolina. She was the wife of the late Calvin Quattlebaum. She retired from the Norristown State Hospital Food Service Department after many years of service, and she was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Norristown. Surviving are a son, John Quattlebaum (Marcia); daughters, Roslyn Hutson (Michael), and Lynn Wheeler; 11 grandchildren; 8 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Gwendolyn Ashe, and a brother, Oscar Gant. Funeral services are going to be held Tuesday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam Baptist Church, 1329 Willow Street, Norristown. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
