James Griffith Obituary
James William Griffith Jr., 59, of Center Street, Wanamie, passed away Wednesday morning at his residence.
Jim was born in Philadelphia on Aug. 3, 1954, a son of James W. Griffith Sr. and the late Janet Marie Rule Griffith.
He attended Greater Nanticoke Area School District and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, West Nanticoke.
Jim was employed at Offset Paperback Mfg., Dallas, and was very active in the Newport Township Consolidated Fire Department and the Newport Township EMS.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet; and brother, Sylvester "Fess" Griffith.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, the former Janet Roberts Griffith; daughters, Annette Mercadante and her husband, Thomas, Sugar Notch; Kim and Victoria Griffith, both of Wanamie; two grandsons, Tommy and Jacob Mercadante; sister, Daune Mutchler, Wanamie; brother, Brian, Hanover Township; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke. Friends may call 4 p.m. to services.
