Joseph Bell Obituary

Joseph Bell Sr., 87, of Pittston, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of Pittston, born August 8, 1921, he was a son of the late Nicola and Philomena DeLullo Belpulsi. He was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1938. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston
Joe was an Army Veteran serving during World War II and served in the 92nd Air Force Reserve Airmen Unit for 35 years. Prior to his retirement, Joseph was employed as an Assistant Physical Therapist at Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Gregory; brothers Dan, John, Louis, Michael Bell; sisters Angela (Lena) Mandicott, Ann Occhito, Sarah Yachna, Clara (Honey) Bell.
Survived by a son, Joe Bell, and Rose, with whom he resided; daughter Pattie Crolick and her husband, Mike, Kingston; grandson David Whitman; granddaughter Carrie Davey; great-grandson Miles Whitman; several nieces and nephews. Along with his family he will be deeply missed by his tiny best friend, Taco.
The funeral will be held Saturday at noon in the Second Presbyterian Church, Pittston. The Rev. David Brague will officiate. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Friday evening, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations if desired may be sent to Second Presbyterian Church, 143 Parsonage Street, Pittston, PA 18640. The family would like to thank Dr. James Bruno and staff for all their care and support over the years and also Dre and the staff at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Joe, Rose and Patti, We didn't get there at all after my dad passed, but he would always talk about his brother. Even though we didn't see much of him when we did it was the best thing. We really did love him and I know you (and us all) will miss him dearly.
