June Allensworth Obituary

June Allensworth
88, of North Fort Myers, Fla., former resident of Gnadenhutten and New Philadelphia passed away peacefully in her home on June 5, 2012. Born in Port Washington on June 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Dichler) Leonhard. June graduated from the former Gnadenhutten High School class of 1940. On Jan. 6, 1942 she married her high school sweetheart Virgil E. Allensworth. They were able to celebrate 70 years of marriage this year. June was a "people" person and loved her many years of working with the public. June was a Stanley Home products representative for many years. Her next adventure was Tiara Glassware of which she sold until her move to Florida. She and Virgil enjoyed several years of selling Polymer Plus Polish at Fleamasters in North Fort Myers. June was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, having duel memberships in Arbutus Chapter #288, Gnadenhutten and Ft. Myers Chapter, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil, and one son, Charles (Ed) and wife, Pamela Allensworth. "Nana" as she was called will be sadly missed by her two grandchildren, Stephanie Allensworth of Worthington and Stephan (Janelle) Allensworth of Strasburg; as well as her five great-granddaughters, Lauren, Madison, Audrey, Jasmine and Shay. She is loved and survived by five nephews and their wives. June was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers-in-law.
Cremation has taken place in Florida by the National Cremation and Burial Society in North Fort Myers, Fla. The family request your presence at a Memorial service to he held on June 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the John Heckawelder Moravian Church in Gnadenhutten with Rev. Darrell Johnson officiating. Visitation will he held one hour prior to the service with Eastern Star services beginning at 10:45 a.m. Internment will take place in the Gnadenhutten Clay Union Cemetery. All are invited to the Masonic Temple in Gnadenhutten for lunch and fellowship. Memorial donations may be given to the John Heckawelder Moravian Church.
