It was one year ago on the 27th that you left us. I was thinking about you in church today. i was remebering how you use to dress in your suits. I still hear you singing ava maria. Daddy...almost a year now, how I want to forget that day...I think I'll sleep it away...I miss you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Our lights went out again and all I can think of is my father would know how to fix them...you know duck tape...why aren't you here...still visiting you everyday...I know I have to go on, but I can't ....it was so sudden for me...everything is 1st for me..., 1st Valentine without you...where was my chocolate heart...1st Easter, that was awful, cried all day 1st Vacation, really sucked...1st Labor Day and all I could remember was you got really sick last year...1st Halloween and no candy, 1st Thanksgiving, brought you the turkey leg did you like it? and what the worse was my 1st Birthday without you....and now I have to get through Christmas, show me some strenght...because it will not be easy...please please send us all stenght, I mean you are in heaven ...whisper to Jesus, we need his help for Nicky, I know you got in good with him, you know teaching him soccer and how to dress well, oh and yeah how to sing too...my heart is broken and it will never heal...I need you Daddy...

Hey Tony,
I know you already know this, since you helped us out, but we made it all the way to semis this year in sectionals, and it was your team that did it. Almost every player on that team had the privilege of being coached by you Tony, and that's what made it possible for us to play together so well. We all miss you Tony, and every game we played and will continue to play forever was and will be in your name, for your honor.

We still think about you all the time. Our son has a soccer ball that was yours. He plays with it often and calls it "Tony's soccer ball." We love and miss you. Things aren't the same without you. Christmas won't be the same without you coming to my mother's house dressed so sharply like you always were. We can't hear the Ave Maria without crying. He always had opinions, about the New York Yankees, the Saratoga races, and I used to love to hear him talk. I always saw him in a great mood in the back yard of Dino and Rose on Beacon Avenue, and he always seemed happiest when he talked about his family. Coach, we will all miss you. All my best wishes go out to the Tirino family. Some of my oldest memories involve learning from Tony at both indoor and outdoor soccer clinics, and being convinced by Tony to start playing with the traveling teams. I always knew it was going to be a good day when I got to say hi to Tony as I walked through the halls at Albany High School. Although it has been several years since I've seen Tony, he made a lasting impression on me, and I will always treasure that. Tony was an incredible person, and will truly be missed.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Tirino during my school career, and later with my employment at the Dept. of Recreation. I worked with Tony at Albany High School for many years. He was dedicated, loyal, and trustworthy. It was always a pleasure to see his smile and glowing face whenever he returned to the high school after his retirement. I would go out of my way to see him in the halls because I had a lot of respect for him. He was a happy and peaceful man. He loved his family. He supported his community and its children. He enjoyed bringing pleasure and good feelings to people through his music. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, acquaintances and co-workers. All of us will be at a loss without him. I feel very blessed to have known Tony for the past 15 years. If a person's life is measured in terms of how many people he has touched and influenced, then Tony is at the top. He gave of himself to the soccer community and to the children who are the most important part of this community. His commitment was a life long one and his accompllishments are many. Tony made the game fun for the kids. He taught my daughter Heather who is now 21 years old a "step over" move when she was 7, that resulted in a goal and more importantly Tony's smile and appreciation. He shared his skill and his passion for the game to all who wanted to learn.
When we complete the first phase of field improvements to the Tony Tirino Fields at Hoffman Park this Spring, I know that Tony will be looking down from heaven with a great smile.
I am sorry for your loss and wish all of Tony's family and friends comfort and support.

Tony Tirino, more than anyone else, was responsible for the tremendous growth of interest in soccer in the City of Albany, both for the Albany Youth Soccer recreational program which he founded and led for so many years, and for the Albany Soccer Club travel program, which he co-founded and for which he served as a longtime coach and leader. My oldest son Ben is representative of so many children in Albany: he was taught soccer skills by Tony at skills clinics when he was a five year old at the rec program; he went for several seasons to the Tony Tirino soccer camp at the Washington Ave armory; and last winter through spring he was on a Under 16 team of the Albany Soccer Club coached by Tony. Tony has left an indelible positive impact on everyone he has touched. We will miss him greatly. On behalf of the Board of the Friends of Albany Youth Soccer, Inc., I extend our deepest sympathy to Tony's family.

Gene and I together with my parents, our daughters and families extend to all of you our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. There was not one significant occassion in our family that was not highlighted by Tony's glorious voice. He will always be part of our happiest memories and an extention to our small immidiate family.
I hope that Gods grace gets you all through these darkest moments. This toghether with the knowledge that his presence although too brief, made a difference and brought joy to the many people whose life he touched through his love of music, sport, family, friendships and all things Italian.
May God grant him the eternal peace he deserves and give you all the strenght to get through the difficult days ahead.

Patsy and family, We are all so deeply sorry for the loss of your father. We all just adored him. Tony always went out of his way to talk to us every year at the Italian Club and we loved hearing him sing with his band. He was a great friend to our family and we will miss seeing him.
