Constance J. Dempsey

VALATIE, N.Y. Constance J. Dempsey, 95, entered into eternal life, Saturday, December 18, 2004. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Louise Cook and John Wallace. Constance was from 1945-1996, a parishioner of St. Clare's, Colonie, before moving to Valatie. Predeceased by her loving husband, John L. Dempsey, sisters, Louise A. Wallace, Regina Flaherty, Jacqueline Choules and brothers, John and William Wallace. She was the loving mother of Thomas A. Dempsey of Wynantskill, Sister Francine Dempsey, CSJ of Albany, Jack Dempsey of East Berne, Connie and Jack Smith of Valatie and honorary daughter, Sister Kitty Hanley, CSJ. She was special grandmother of Michelle, Francine and Katy Smith and Jack, Brian and Ian Dempsey. Also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, and especially the Flaherty family. Throughout her long life family, faith and hospitality were essential to Connie's life. She shared her gracious love with all she met. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Jack Molyn, Wednesday, December 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Rte. 9, Valatie. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 21, from 4-8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Valatie. Contributions in Connie's memory may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Latham or St. John the Baptist Faith Formation Program.
