Edward Hickey Obituary
COHOES - Edward G. Hickey Sr., age 93 of Cohoes, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022.
Born on November 16, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Anna Subcliffe Hickey. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War. Ed will be remembered for his humor and laughter. He loved to tell jokes and make everyone smile. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his wife, Grace M. (Shaw) Hickey; children, Edward G. Hickey Jr., John M. Hickey, Lori J. (Gary) Paro, Karen (Steve) Hulbert, and Daniel J. (Jennifer) Hickey; grandchildren, Lynne Hickey, Elizabeth Valigorsky, Brandon Ricci, and Makenna Hickey; and great-grandchildren, Connor Anderson, Taylor Hickey, Allison and Alexis Sovie, and Thomas Cone. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Donald Hickey; and children, Lyn M. Hickey, Timothy Hickey, and Mark J. Hickey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Marra Funeral Home, Cohoes. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Calling hours are on Thursday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to the services

Uncle Ed, I know it´s been a while since I saw you and Aunt Grace. But I have many memories as a young child with the Hickey family. Although I moved away as a young adult, I made sure to send a holiday card every year to make sure you and Aunt Grace knew you were in my thoughts. May you always be remembered for the kind hearted gentleman and of course the funny, witty jokester!

Uncle Ed . I will truly miss you. Thank you for always keeping your eye open for me when I was a child. Making sure that I kept in line. Always letting me know not to follow behind others but to try to lead . I appreciate all our conversations we had. To do my best . Last time I talk to you a few years back, you said that you were proud of my accomplishments and said to remember to take care of myself and my mother. I did that to also to the best of my ability. Thank you for always keeping my spirits up and believing I was more than who I thought I could be. You will always be a great uncle, Father, Friend, and A United States MARINE. Rest in Peace .
