Judson Bryce Obituary

SCHENECTADY Judson E. Bryce, 86, of Hazelwood Ave., passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was born in Schenectady and has lived in this area all of his life except for his four years during World War II. He graduated from Scotia High School, attended Syracuse University, College of Forestry, then Northeast Airline Flight Officer's School and served in the U.S. Naval Air Force from 1943, where he was a flight instructor until 1947 when he received an honorable discharge as lieutenant, senior grade. He then took computer programming courses at Albany Business College and was employed by GE at the Malta Test Station and worked there until he started working for the NY State Tax Department, then the N.Y. State Health Department, retiring in 1978. His first wife, Dorothy Carter Bryce, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cross Bryce; his sister, Lorraine LaPointe of Scotia; and also his children, Robert Bryce of Tonga, Corliss Greene of Middleburgh, Valerie Barlous of Rockville, Md., Vicki Pickens of Mill Valley, Calif. and Judson W. Bryce of Lago Vista, Texas; and a niece, Denise Burritt. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Erik, Brittany, Brianna Bryce and Gabriel and Seth DiSarro, Bryce Buell, Lauren Pickens, Jessie Bryce, Nicole Orbison and Kamryn Bryce; also great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Holly Buell. He was also loved by his three stepdaughters, Vivian Ferraro of Mariaville Lake, Nancy Olaver of Chino Hills, Calif. and Cynthia Williams of Ward, Colo.; 15 step-grandchildren and four great-step-grandchildren. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends. A memorial service will be held on July 24, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at his church, Bellevue Reformed Church, 2000 Broadway, Schenectady, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Bellevue Reformed Church or for research to the Alzheimer's Association Capital District Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206.

Dear Dad (Judd), You will always be in my heart and the wonderful memories you gave us loving the outdoors and the joy of being at the cabin and lake, waterskiing, and other outdoor sports. I will always love you and pray I will be with again one day.
