Laura Engelke

Engelke, Laura KERHONKSON Laura Engelke, 60 of Cedar Ridge Road, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2021, at her residence. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Barton Engelke. Laura worked in the family business "Want Ad Digest" for a number of years. She moved to Woodstock to be near her sister and brother-in-law Linda and Frank Stella in 2010 and had resided in Woodstock Manor in Ulster County for several years, and, since the beginning of her illness in various group homes in Ulster County. A talented pianist, she had played since she was three years old. She played for the residents of the group homes where she lived and at church on occasion. She was a people person and loved spending time with her family. She was the sister of Linda J. Stella (Frank) of Saugerties, Paul Engelke of Eagle Mills, Carol Salamanca of Petersburg, Rose Ellen Hastings of Troy, Eric Engelke (Resa) of Surfside Beach, S.C. and the late Robert Engelke. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Per pandemic regulations, masks are required and social distancing and occupancy limitations observed.
