To The Family of Lester Jeffries,
I am sorry to hear of Lester's passing. I knew Lester from Rensselaer Ambulance. I have been a member since 1994. I used to look forward to the pancake suppers and spaghetti dinners that he helped run. Lester will be missed by all who knew him. Rensselaer Ambulance wouldnt be here today if Lester wasnt there in the begining.

Dear Barbara, Joan and Family, I was truly shocked to hear of our Sonnys' passing. When I called to talk to Sonny after arriving home from the hospital, Joan told me that Sonny was gone.
I always remembered him as my friend, neighbor and good, good man. He was always smiling and we truly enjoyed our visits with him and Elsie. I truly didn't see much of Elsie but did Sonny when we came to NY.
I'll always remember Sonny, Elsie and all the family. May God Comfort and keep all of you very safe and well. May God grant Sonny rest in peace. We are truly sorry and saddened over the loss of our Sonny.

Lester was a good friend. I met Lester through his work with the Rensselaer Kiwanis Club. He was often the "spark" that kept the club moving and doing community projects. I will miss him at our Van Rensselaer Division Council meetings.

Dear Barbara and Family,
We are very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful and caring man. He was truly a pioneer and knew how to motivate people in all of his causes. I truly believe that if it was not for Lester, Renssalear Ambulance would never have gotten off the ground. He saw a need in the community and did everything he could to see that it happened- he got people to work together to make sure it happened. A thing that today is sadly lacking. God Bless you Lester and may your family find comfort in a the things you accomplished within your community. RIP

Joan and Family,
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies in the passing of your Dad. What a very special man he was! He touched so many lives in his time here on earth. He loved his family and he loved his community. There was never a time that I saw him that he would not say hello with a huge smile. He is responsible for so many good things in the City of Rensselaer and always wanted something better for this, our city. May he rest in the peace he is so deserving of.
Sincerely,

Mollie Shook

I worked with Lester at the Dept. of Civil Service for 20 years and also went to Fort Drum with him on two occasions. He was kindest of men; always willing to help anyone anywhere. Les valued friendship and family; he had many friends everywhere and was always anxious to talk proudly about his family. Lester was a "gentle man" in the truest sense. God Keep You Close!

Papa,
Over the past few days we've been reminiscing about all of the wonderful times we've had together as a family- vacations, holidays, camp, birthdays, weddings, births... we are so thankful to have these memories of you to hold onto and cherish for the rest of our lives and to pass down to our children some day. You were such an amazing person, Papa. And an even more amazing grandfather. We love you so so so much. Enjoy eternity with Grama dancing forever in the stars.
Love always,
