Wilhelmine King Obituary
HALFMOON - Wilhelmine M. "Peggy" King, 95 of Halfmoon, died on Monday, October 9, 2023, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1928 and she met her future husband, the late Donald H. King while he was stationed in Frankfurt during World War II. She first came to the U.S. after World War II. She was employed at Price Chopper in Mechanicville for over 20 years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. Fronczek and Ricky Fronczek. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Edeltroud Schmidt of Frankfurt, Germany; nieces, Paula Jackson Mauldin, Jean Carter, Yasmine Wichmann, Gaby Korner, and Claudia Forster; nephews, Peter Wichmann, Berndi Wichmann and Frank Schmidt; and many dear friends including, Louise and George LeVinus, Diane Antolick, Ann Marotta and Roberta Lane. Peggy was predeceased by all of her siblings, Herbert Schmidt, Werner Schmidt, Erika Wichmann and Maria Mueller.
Peggy was blessed to have wonderful caregivers for the past year and a half who truly cared for her and allowed her to remain in her home. A very special thank you to Amanda, Melinda, Melissa, Sandra, Sophy, Subrina, Xiomara and Jayne.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 12 p.m. in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rte. 9, Clifton Park. A calling hour will precede the funeral service from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Jonesville Cemetery in Clifton Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 or to an animal rescue or animal shelter of your choice.

There are many things I will miss about Peggy: her intellect, her independence, her laugh, our many conversations, and her love for family.
I have two favorite memories. The first was taking her for coffee soft serve ice cream. We´d eat in the car and laugh the whole time.
The second was her excitement at, after weeks of therapy, she was able to walk out the front door, down her steps and strolled up and down the street a few times. Nothing made her more happy than her independence.
I´m very grateful to have known Peggy and the time we shared.
