Eva Bauer Obituary

BAUER Mrs. Eva Mae Harris Bauer, age 77, of Jacksonville, Florida, died December 20, 2002, in Boca Raton, Florida. She was born in Blackshear, Georgia, but traveled extensively, living both here and abroad before moving to Jacksonville in 1957 upon her husbands retirement from military service. She was a housewife, a member of the Murray Hill Civic Association and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Robert Bauer: a daughter: Susan Feit; her parents: Calvin L. and Lillie Turner Harris; 4 brothers: Erman J. Harris, J. Reppard (JR) Harris, Ivan T. Harris, David Earl Harris, and 4 sisters: Cora Bennett, Martha Jinks, Irene Sheppard, and Evonne Meeks. She is survived by 3 daughters: Caroline Jolene Steinmeyer of Jacksonville, Florida, Sherry Lynn Bauer of Boca Raton, Florida, and Tina Marie McQueen, of Greenback, Tenn.; 1 son: Walter Robert Bauer Jr. of Homestead, Florida, a sister, Nell Weaver of Orange Park, Florida, 2 brothers: Adrian L. Riggins of Washington, D.C., and C.W. Harris of Waycross, Georgia, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service with Dr. Bill Young, of the First Baptist Church of Blackshear, will be held on Saturday (2-15-03) at 1 PM in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Research Foundation or to your local Hospice organization.
