To Jennifer's family,
My son Jacob was in Ms Oakley's class this year and I met with her several times in the few months she was there this school year. The last time I saw her was on the field trip on October 30, 2009 right before she had her wisdom teeth removed. She was in so much pain that day but still she had a smile or kind words for her students. Right before Jacob and I left for the day, I gave her a hug and said, "I hope you feel better". She was loved by her students, the parents and the teachers and other employees at San Mateo and she will truly be missed by all. She has been in my prayers since that day and you all have been in my prayers since I learned of her cancer. I will continue to pray for peace for all of you as you go thru this very difficult time.

Linda and Fred~

Linda, it has been a long time since we worked together, but when i heard about the loss of your daughter Jenny, I had to reach out and contact you. I am so sorry. Although I didn't know her, based upon the time that I knew you and Fred, I have no doubts that Jenny was a bright, cheerful, and dedicated teacher. I know how much you both loved your children and because of this, her time on this earth was happy and filled with love. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this very difficult time.

At this time of deep heartache, words are inadequate to express the sorrow felt by those who loved and respected Jennifer. I am so sorry for your pain and your loss. I work at San Mateo and I often admired Jennifer and the way she interacted with her students and co-workers. She treated her students with compassion and patience. She joked with her students and made them feel important and loved. May your heart find strength, peace and comfort now and in the days to come.

Our daughter, Winter, was privledged enough to have Ms. Oakley as her 3rd grade teacher in 2007-2008. During that year, Winter became close to Jennifer, and loved her dearly.

We were deeply saddened when we heard Jennifer had become so ill. When things like this happen, we have to trust that God knows what he is doing, even when we fail to understand the reasons.

Mrs. Oakley inspired her students. Through her teaching, caring, and compassion, she left a wonderful legacy to the children that were fortunate enough to have her as their teacher. She will be greatly missed.

We will continue to hold her family and friends in our prayers.

Mason made this for her in his therapy session.

Oakley family,

I can't imagine how hard this is for you. She was my son Masons teacher this year. Mason was her "problem child" but when I told him, he cried for her and told his therapist that he was bad all the time but she loved him anyway. She will be missed by all.
