John Weldon Obituary

WELDON John Thomas Weldon, 69, passed away October 11, 2009 at the McGraw Center of Community Hospice. Born April 10, 1940 in Bronx, New York, he lived in Chicago and moved to Florida several years ago. He was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and loved walking his dogs, Repo and Bruno, on Jacksonville Beach. Family members include his sons: Sean and Ian Weldon, both of Jacksonville Beach; daughter, Jenenne Hollister of Jacksonville Beach; brother, Michael Weldon of New York; and granddaughters, Elizabeth, Rachel, Victoria, Catherine, and Stephanie all of Jacksonville Beach. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15th in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 16th at St. Paul's Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach, with the Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant. Prayers to you all and to John...I started many days with him on the beach with our dogs and I have been and will continue to miss him...He was certainly our Sunrise Beach Ambassador and will be missed...Know he is with us in spirt and my thoughts and prayers have been with you all...

John was a familiar figure for many years walking his dogs on the beach every morning. He will be greatly missed not only by Sam and I but many other dog owners. He was a nice, nice man and great to walk with and talk to. My condolences to his loving family. Vicki Keefer
