BILL BITNER Obituary

BILL BITNER Bill Bitner, age 87, of Kempton, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at The Water in Tipton with his loving family by his side. He was born in Kempton on March 14, 1936, to his parents, Ernest & Ota Mae (Shope) Bitner. Bill married the love of his life, Elizabeth White, on September 15, 1956, at his parents' house in Kempton. They shared 63 wonderful years together before she passed away on May 17, 2020. Bill attended Kempton High School. He worked at Accurate Parts for 20 plus years and New Horizons Developmental Center for six years. Bill proudly served in the National Guard for eight years. Bill was a talented artist. He enjoyed oil painting; he loved to paint farm scenes and nature. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was never one to pass up a good garage sale. He was always on the hunt for radios and old toys. Bill's joy in life was being a grandpa! He had always been a family man, an amazing father and husband, but when the grandchildren and great grandchildren came along, they had him wrapped around their little finger. Bill had the best sense of humor, always able to make others laugh. He had no filter which often made what he was saying even funnier. His quirky personality and love of sharing stories will be deeply missed. Those left to carry on Bill's legacy of love are his daughter, Tracy (Scott) Piel; granddaughters, Kylie (Logan Tina) Piel, Jessica (Chad) Coolbaugh; great grandchildren, Lily, and Leo Coolbaugh; siblings, Melba Stahl, Mary Shive; sisters in law, Dot White, Joyce Lindsay, Barb Dye; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Ernest & Ota Mae Bitner; wife, Elizabeth Bitner; son, Terry Bitner; siblings, Naomi Rippy, Earl Bitner, Gene Bitner, Dick Bitner, Max Bitner; and siblings in law, Thelma Jean Mulvihill, Larry White, Leon White, Robert White, Martha Akin, and Carolyn Turner. A funeral service celebrating Bill's life Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2:00pm at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home located at 314 N Main Street in Tipton. A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from Noon 2:00pm. Committal will take place in Kempton Cemetery.
