Gerard A. DiGilio
Gerard A. DiGilio, 66, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 14, 2021, in the St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem, after a long, strong and brave battle with cancer. He was the husband of Linda (Musto) DiGilio. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Dec. 14 of last year.
He was employed as conductor/engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad until retiring.
Born in Queens, N.Y., he was a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Duffy) DiGilio.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, and the Penn Forest Township Fire Company No. 1.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, Gerard F., and his wife, Dianna, of Penn Forest Township, and Timothy M. in North Carolina; four sisters, Margaret, wife of Frank Cavallo, and Christina, wife of William Gummerman, both in New York, Virginia DiGilio in California and Maryanne Riggin in Maryland; three brothers, Frank in Florida, Anthony, and his wife, Sandra, in Connecticut, and Andrew, and his wife, Mary Ann, in New Hampshire; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Noah.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 526 North St., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. Ronald Minner officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Jim Thorpe.
