Carol Jean (Klotz) Schlea

Carol Jean (Klotz) Schlea, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbus, Ohio, on March 22, 2024.

Carol was born on February 11, 1934, in Gibsonburg, Ohio. In May of 1954 she married James Schlea also of Gibsonburg. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joan Minick. Carol is survived by her husband; and children, Debra Obrock (Thomas) Groveland, FL, Mark Schlea, Westerville, Ohio, Sally Kopco (William) Mansfield, Ohio, and Daniel Schlea, Columbus, Ohio. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Luther Obrock, Berkeley, CA, Sarah Obrock Mugnaini, (Nick), Davenport, FL, Anna Kopco, Brooklyn, NY; and one great-grandson, Leonello Mugnaini.

A private service will be held at a later date with immediate family. Interment at Lake Township Cemetery in Walbridge, Ohio. Memorials can be made to: Hospice Fund, Mount Carmel Foundation, 3100 Easton Square Place, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43219 or mountcarmelfoundation.org.
